Plan
[edit]- Generally, minimally invasive approach; cut and paste where possible.
- Central core:
- /Peripheral neuropathy will be the central article, based on the existing peripheral neuropathy.
- Keep /Polyneuropathy with a "see main article" from Peripheral neuropathy
- Redirect Neuropathy to Peripheral neuropathy, with a hatnote to...
- .../Neuropathy (disambiguation), including cranial neuropathy, optic neuropathy, LHON, auditory neuropathy
- New /Neuropathic pain article
- Merge (and redirect) into Peripheral neuropathy:
- some of neuropathy
- mononeuropathy, mononeuritis multiplex
- delete axonopathy, myelinopathy, neuronopathy; largely duplicated in original Neuropathy article
- autonomic neuropathy, and redirect motor neuropathy and sensory neuropathy
- neuritis
- include a see main article to small fiber peripheral neuropathy
- Merge (and redirect) into Neuropathic pain:
- neuropathy: most of page > Neuropathic pain, rest merges into new Peripheral neuropathy
- neuralgia: does need work (e.g. delete second half of intro, add prominent link to Trigeminal neuralgia) but can be left alone for now
- painful neuropathy...what to do with this?
- Keep as separate pages, no changes required:
- motor neurone disease
- Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (hereditary neuropathy doesn't redirect here, but to the appropriate section in Peripheral neuropathy: not all hereditary neuropathies are called CMT)
- Not sure what to do with:
- demyelinating disease: brief and rough - convert to disambiguation page, or change PNS section to a link to wherever demyelinating neuropathy is discussed?
- Other things to put in the Peripheral neuropathy article:
- common or important causes (diabetic neuropathy, alcohol, HIV); under specific forms, but also in a See also section
- links to patient websites (Google for them!)
