<b>Balitar islamic University</b> (abbreviated Unisba Blitar; Javanese: ꧋ꦲꦸꦤꦶꦮ꦳ꦺꦂꦱꦶꦠꦱ꧀ꦲꦶꦱ꧀ꦭꦩ꧀ꦧꦭꦶꦠꦂ, English Language: Balitar Islamic University, Arabic: جامعة باليتار الإسلامية) is one of the private universities in Indonesia was located in Blitar City, East Java, Indonesia. Balitar Islamic University is located at St. Majapahit 2-4, Sananwetan District, Blitar City, East Java, Indonesia. Balitar Islamic University was founded in 2003 under the auspices of the Bina Citra Anak Bangsa Foundation with Official Establishment Decree Number 147/D/02003 dated September 5, 2003. Balitar Islamic University established four faculties and 20 study programs at the beginning of its establishment.[1]
Balitar Islamic University has the motto "The Real Entrepreneurial University", which means building a university with an entrepreneurial character that will produce graduates with an entrepreneurial spirit and upholding Islamic values. The entrepreneurial spirit is the character of a pioneer who can be a trailblazer, trailblazer, pioneer or leader, both as an independent entrepreneur and as a professional. In an effort to improve and equalize the quality of education, Balitar Islamic University in 2017 made a memorandum of understanding with the Bandung Institute of Technology. The understanding that was made was regarding cooperation in research, human resource development, education, community service and empowerment, as well as entrepreneurial campus development.[2]

Background
[edit]The initiators of the establishment of the Balitar Islamic University, among others, were Prof. Dr. Ir. Zaenal Fanani, M.S., IPU, Dr. Drs. H. Hadi Siswanto, M.M., and Dr. Drs. H. Soebiantoro, M.Sc., is a Muslim scholar who was born and raised in Blitar City and wants to participate in making the lives of the people of Blitar City and its surroundings more intelligent. They argue that it is necessary to have a first university in Blitar City that is based on Islamic values and in harmony with local wisdom values amidst the emergence of many nationalist universities in order to produce religious scholars; honest, responsible, adhere to Islamic law and be cultured; continuing to preserve local wisdom values. The word "Balitar" was agreed to be part of the name of the university that would be founded because Balitar (Bali Tartar) is a pangenget or sign given by Nilasurwana or Gusti Sudomo in the 15th century for successfully defeating the Tartar army while hiding in the southern forest (Blitar and its surroundings). ) who rebelled against the Majapahit Kingdom.[3]
