Kumaar is the screen name of Rakesh Kumar, a popular Indian lyricist active in Bollywood cinema. Some of the more successful songs include Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Sooraj Dooba hain, Lovely, Desi Look, Nachan Farrate and Main Hoon Hero Tera. He was nominated for Filmfare Awards for song Sooraj Dooba for film Roy [1]

Biography

Kumaar was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He moved to Mumbai in 1996 and began writing lyrics. His first success was the song "Ishq Tera Tadpave" recorded by Sukhbir. His first work in film lyrics was with the 2004 film Plan, for which he wrote the lyrics for the song "Hota Hai Hota Hai".

He went on to achieve success with lyrics for the film Anjaana Anjaani for song "Tujhe Bhula Diya" which he was nominated as "Best Lyricist" in the Second Annual Global Indian Music Awards, and Ra.One.
