Alan Larsson Alan Peter Larsson, (born October 21, 1965) is a Swedish author, known for his autobiographical memoir, A Tall Tale of Decline, published 2000. Alan is the son of Gunnar Larsson, a founder and owner of the former Swedish financial conglomerate, Tykkon. After his father’s death in 1993, Tykkon was seized from the Larsson family by majority shareholders. Company assets included the Larsson’s large estate, vacation homes, and collection of vintage automobiles. His mother, Ivana Larsson’s health degenerated quickly in the following years, and died of lung cancer in 1997.

Despite a large inheritance, Larsson befell financial dilemmas, due to allegedly fraudulent financial management and poor stock investments. Larsson left Stockholm in 1999 for Paris, where he wrote his memoir. In 2000, his manuscript was licensed by British publishing company Allista. The book was released to abundant critical praise, and ranked #2 on the New York Times Bestseller’s list of 2001. He married the widowed French heiress, Claire Bertrand. They currently reside at Bertrand’s estate in Paris.
