The Emphorini is a tribe of apid bees. The group comprises nine genera that can be found exclusively in the Americas [2] . Almost all species are oligolectic and are specialized on plants from the families Malvaceae, Convolvulaceae, Cactaceae, Asteraceae, Onagraceae and Pontederiaceae [3]. Unlike other bees from the Eucerinae subfamily, males from this tribe do not have long antennae[4].
