Namitala Gertrude Hope is a female Ugandan born on 27th July 1990. She is the second among seven children and is a born again christian and fellowships at United Christian Center, Kasubi. Gertrude lives in Kampala and Luweero Districts. She completed her bachelors degree of Science in Information Technology at Amity University, India where she became a mapper, graphics designer, database engineer and a software developer. She is interested in Bible discussions, children, programming, reading, learning new ideas, making friends and travelling among other things. She currently resides in Zambia where she owns an IT firm TruDigital Technologies Limited a company that provides IT solutions to different companies and individuals. additionally, she is also forming the OSM Zambia community where she trains people to map and the importance of it.

Gertrude has organised mapping events in universities and for organisations. She held a mapping event on women's day where many women were trained to use OpenStreetMap to include social service facilities on the map.
