Heather Von Stackelberg lives in Edmonton, Alberta CA and is currently a teacher of Maths at Yellowhead Tribal College. She is also a freelance writer, researcher and blogger, with degrees in Communication Studies (BSc), Botany (BSc), and Integrated Studies (MA).

Stackelberg graduated from Athabasca University where she completed a Communication Studies degree. This was to accompany her BSc in Botany. Stackelberg then went on to complete a MA in Integrated Studies at the Grant MacEwan College.

• Psychology and the Internet : Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, and Transpersonal Implications

Psychology and the Internet is a book examining the affects of how the internet shapes society and also researching communication and work patterns written by Jayne Gackenbach and was also co-written by Stackelberg. Stackelberg main contribution to the book was in chapter three, "Self Online: Personality and Demographic Implications", within this chapter Stackelberg and Jayne explore how internet user become a different person when communicating online.

This is an online journal for graduate students. It is edited and produced by MAIS graduate students with the help and support from Stackelberg.

• The Windspeaker

Windspeaker is a Canadian Aboriginal magazine operated by the AMMSA (Aboriginal Multi-Media Society). The magazine covers news, current affaires, cultural issue and many other topics. Stackelberg began to contribute to Windspeak in 2002, within the time she was there she added seven articles to the magazine, one of which was then taken on to become an brief article to buy on amazon. The article, “Creative solution found to funding problem”, was published by AMMSA in July 30, 2005. The article is an explanation about the financial cutbacks made to the Canadian art education fund and how the Aboriginal Art Project of Edmonton Public Schools are fund raising to further keep the art education.

Alberta Sweetgrass, an extension of Windspreaker, is a monthly published newspaper of Alberta.

Stackelberg has many academic areas of interest and she has written articles in areas such as Psychology, Health and Fitness and Organic Growing.

Psychology

Within this field Stackelberg has co-authored a chapter in the book Psychology and the Internet; Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, and Transpersonal Implications. She also wrote while studying her master of arts- integrated study degree a thesis on Towards Creative Expression which was submitted as part of her degree.

Health and Fitness

Stackelberg has written many articles within this field such as Sprouting Back to Health, Cholesterol is No Monster and Good Sugars Bad Sugars. Many of her articles including these are featured on website Alive.com.

Organic Growing

In this area Stackelberg has written the article Genetics and the Basis of Biotechnology which is also featured on the website Alive.com.

Current Professional Position

Stackelberg is currently teaching math’s at Yellow head Tribal College, an educational institution located in Edmonton, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba which is run by five member nations of Treaty 6 with the five members being Alexander First Nation, Enoch Cree Nation, O'Chiese First Nation, Sunchild First Nation and Alexis First Nation.
