ʔæsːælæːmʊ ʕalæıkʊm (السلام عليكم),

I used to edit on Wikipedia under another username, however I somehow managed to forget my password and don't have access to it any more. If any administrators can help me delete that old account ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Musa_as-Salafi ) I'd greatly appreciate it.

My main reason for making this account is to correct some of the mistakes made on Islamic related articles. Whilst I do believe there are big issues which are related to different sects and POVs I aim to correct some of the smaller things for now. One thing which truly annoys me is the constant incorrect usage of the IPA for spelling Arabic and Islamic terms. I'm not sure who is behind it all, and I don't wish to point any fingers but they seem to be using American influenced IPA and they tend to transliterate the terms using colloquial Arabic rather than Classical Arabic. The other annoying things are the strange claims made which to an educated Muslim are obviously absurd, yet manage to survive on Wikipedia for so long. Lots of fun and editing ahead I guess...

aım mʊsʌ (mʊːsæː ın ıts pɹɒpʌ pɹənæʊnsıjæıʃən ın æɹəbık) wıtʃ tɹænzlæıts æz moʊzəs (ðə pɹɒfət).

A list of the IPA changes I have made for Arabic/Islamic related terms:

ʔæðæːn Adhan - No IPA was offered, only an alternate spelling (Athan).

ħaʤːə Hajj - No IPA spelling was offered, only Ḥaǧǧ was offered as a transliteration. Note that I have added a schwa at the end, this is because Jeem (ج) is a letter which includes a Qalqalah after it (schwa) when standing alone without any vowels after it.

ʤɪhæːdə Jihad - An incorrect IPA spelling was given - ʤi'haːd. Changed the i to an ɪ, changed the a to an æ and added a Qalqalah after the d.

ʤɪzjæh Jizya - No IPA spelling was offered, only cizye was offered as on Ottoman Turkish spelling which itself is incorrect as Ottoman spelling would be in Arabic, not Latin script.

fɪqəh Fiqh - No IPA spelling was offered.

ʔælmæsʤɪd ælħaram Masjid al-Haram - Corrected the IPA spelling from ʔælˈmæs.ʤi.dæl.ħɑˈrɑːm. The i was changed to an ɪ and the ɑ was changed to a. I decided to keep the æ at the start of al-Haram even though the Arabic would be ʊ as the hamzat al-wasl would be preceded by a dammah at the end of Masjid, however the English term al-Haram would be better to preserve as its the title of the page.

rɪbæː Riba - No IPA spelling was offered.

sˤɒdæqɒh Sadaqah - No IPA spelling was offered.

sæʤədæh/sʊʤʊːdə - Sujud - No IPA spelling was offered. Sujūd was offered as a transliteration.

wæqəf Waqf - No IPA spelling was offered.

zækæːh Zakat - No IPA spelling was given, only zakaat and zakāh as alternate spellings.

ʕaːʔɪʃæh Aisha - No IPA spelling was given, ʿāʾ'isha, A'ishah, Ayesha, 'A'isha, and 'Aisha were offered as a transliterations as was Ayşe and Âişe from Turkish and Ottoman Turkish.
