[edit]My Favorite Team Season Articles
[edit]- 1895 Rush-Lake Forest- The Rush-Lake Forest football team was born out of a mid-season consolidation of two distinct football teams into a single entity, and it is the only example of this scenario that I've ever come across in my studies.
- 1903 Wabash- This team had a good record, and played an African American football player named Gordon that sparked racial prejudices from some opponents, like Shortridge High School and Rose Polytechnic. Their was also an interesting controversy on the score of a game against Culver Military Academy.
- 1936 Slippery Rock- The transitive property used to declare Slippery Rock the 1936 national champion is almost as well-known as the team itself. The entire nation was captivated by this clever and hysterical debate, and to this day you will still hear the Slippery Rock score broadcasted at halftime in Michigan's home stadium.
