Mian Karam Elahi Dar was borne on February 22, 1885 in the Town of Shopian in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir State. He received his Islamic religious education from the religious school of Shopian and was admitted later to a primary school. He was later sent to a Middle School of the State and completed his education there. He received his high school education in a state controlled High School of Shopian and joined his father Allah Buckish Dar's Food Supply Business at the Jammu & Kashmir State level. Soon, he became a well trained business professional and received excellent appreciation from the state celebrities & dignities.
When local Dogra regime come to know the business honesty & brilliance of the Mian Karam Elahi Dar, they offered him to have a contract with British Army in India. Because the main source of Food Supply for his Company was Punjab Province in India, though he moved to the Punjab Province of India.
