Season 2
[edit]Premise
[edit]Following an assassination attempt against President Kate McCullers, Jean Grey decides that the X-Men: Red will work alongside the presidency, although not as an attached department. Her decision pushes away Nightcrawler, who joins Psylocke and her Wild Menace group, also consisting of Namor McKenzie, Trinary, Honey Badger, and Magik, who left the X-Men headquarters in the middle of the previous season. Wolverine, Gentle, and Kitty Pryde stay by Grey's side and recruit Storm, Jubilee and Colossus. When an enraged McCullers decides to criminalize every mutant in the United States, the Red Team must perform a double mission: guarantee peace with humans and stop Wild Menace before they kill the President and the entire White House, inspired by Magneto's similar approach years earlier.

Season 4
[edit]Premise
[edit]Following the third season events, the Red Team faces major restructuring. Nightcrawler and Jubilee leave the Red Team and move to Hollywood with the intentions of experimenting acting careers, while Kitty Pryde leaves to live in Massachusetts with her fiancée Bobby Drake. Rachel Summers and Dazzler are officially confirmed as members, whereas Blink rejects Jean Grey's offer. The group's leader recruits Julio Esteban Richter, who uses the alias of Rictor, and Trish Walker, who was incarcerated in the Raft for committing a series of murders against criminals. She is released in exchange for devoting the rest of her life to heroism and weekly psychological treatment sessions. Meanwhile, the group bumps into members of the X-Force and, in the process, attracts Shatterstar's eyes, who joins the team. The fourth season's main antagonist is established once the team's headquarters are attacked by a series of assassins known as the Marauders. They soon understand that a man named Nathaniel Essex, also known as Mister Sinister, is trying to kidnap Jean and Trish and experiment on them to build the "perfect genetic code".
