Golden Valley Golf and Country Club is private golf club located in Golden Valley, Minnesota a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Golden Valley Country Club opened in 1914, the course was designed by one of the most famous golf architects A. W. Tillinghast in 1926. Tillinghast is famous for course designs of Winged Foot Golf Club, Baltusrol Golf Club, San Francisco Golf Club, Ridgewood Country Club, Somerset Hills Country Club, Bethpage Black and Quaker Ridge Golf Club to name a few.
History
[edit]Golden Valley Golf Club was incorporated on December 21, 1916, however its organizational roots date as far back as 1914. "Its purpose was to conduct a club or society for the purpose of social enjoyment, mental and physical culture, and promoting outdoor sports and entertainment for its members."
