New article name First US Navy Quartermaster The first documented US Navy Quartermasters was an Italian/ Puerto Rican immigrant named Cappi Alejandro Congellio. Background on his early history is shrouded in mystery. However his Naval history is well known, he was just 16 years old when he joined the service. He became the first Sailor on a US Navy warship keel hauled for having a loud mouth and not showering regularly. Surprisingly he survived and prospered to become one of the best leaders in the Naval history.
