Muhamed Jatta was born on the 31st of March 1975 in the city of Banjul, the Gambia in the western path of Africa. He grew up and schooled in Banjul. He studied English and other relevant subjects in school including Islamic studies to a wider range because he is a Muslim by religion. he got married to his first wife at the age of 27 and remarried 2 years later. He is blessed with 4 sons, Abdoul Razaq, Abdoulahi Tahiru, Issa Ruhulahi and the eldest Muhamed Eliman. Muhamed Jatta have 2 elder brothers from the same mother (Abdoulahi Conteh, Abdoulahi Bah) and a sister (Hujija Jatta) from the same mother and father. Muhamed lost his mum at the age of 10 and was under the guidance of his aunt who was the younger sister of his mother (Ndela Ceesay). He practiced and engaged within the daily engagements in the path of religion. He entered the sufi path at the age of 24 and became a certified sufi teacher later. He wrote a book entitled "Synopsis of Islam" which depicted the essence of islamic fundamentalism and the enlightenment of daily duties in the sight of Allah. This book spread even earlier before published to people of high understanding in the sufi doctrines.

In what ever you do, say, see or think, the supreme result is qualification and excellence. In the teaching stage, either by writing, watching, hearing or general speech; the efficiency is understanding. Most of all human beings think that we look and see with their eyes, listen and hear with their ears. This is just a general idea accepted by the mind, but we really look with our eyes and see by the mind; listen with the ears and hear by the mind. The mind stands as the centre of communication and the route of perfection. If we were able to see without the mind’s eye, then some eye-blinded men can never find their way home. The eyes and ears are only there to serve as agents, but the mind is that which sees and it is controlled by the supreme, unique, true and ever present living God – Allah. If we, human beings broaden our views, we shall come to know that there is a source of existence somewhere – everywhere, because of something, for everyone or someone – to guide and protect. God (Allah) is only one, he is real and living, his absence is nowhere to be found. He is ever present and everywhere. His spiritual form is one and only one, but the non-spiritual forms are many and very different. Example: - The flow of electric current through the refrigerator makes it to freeze water to ice, and that same flow of electric current to the kettle, heats to water. The electric current is one and yet still it can freeze and heat water. Allah creates everything seen and unseen, heard and unheard, still and moving. He lays down laws to guard and protect us from trouble. If any surpasses them; then that individual has gone beyond the limits prescribed. Ignorance of the law is no excuse hence you living in that place and don’t want to know its laws. If there is anything you don’t know, please ask the learned. If incase you act towards that ignorantly, then you have gone beyond the limits and that is no excuse. To believe in Allah means to believe in the holy prophet (pbuh), the holy Quran, the angels, paradise, hell and also the day of resurrection (yawm al Qiyam). Whatever falls on thee, know and believe that it’s from the Almighty Allah; be it sickness or hardship. Allah usually tests his servant’s faith to see if he will turn away, just be strong and he will surely cure your wounds. The laws of the Almighty Allah should be obey and done accordingly. To abide by the laws of Allah means to act towards that which the prophet s used to do, then your reward is with Allah, but if different from that, whosoever dig a pit shall be buried in it. If you do well your reward is with Allah the beneficent the merciful, and if you do evil there is a grievous penalty awaiting you. Allah is neither our mother nor our father, and it is not hatred if a mother flogs her child, it’s just to punish him because he was warned before. This is an invitation to all non-Muslims, calling you to the religion of Islam. Islam is the only religion of peace. This is the only religion by which the servant is taught, broaden, wizened and truly elevated to the knowing of the true existence of his creator (Allah). In Islam, all the prophets of Allah and their books are accepted. Unlike other religions like Christianity, not all prophets and books accepted. If you say that you believe in Allah, you have nothing, but to say “I hear and obey”. The holy Quran says: - (2:285) “The messenger believeth in what hath been reveal to him from his lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, his angels, his books, and his messengers”. May Allah open our mind’s eyes to see, hear and accept the truth - Amin CHAPTER I

THE STATE OF ‘LAA’ - ‘NOTHINGNESS’

‘Fana’ is the annihilation of the lover or ego to create the holy space for the arrival of the Beloved. This is the beginning of Divine attunement. The attunement can start as soon as the lover is being eradicated until there is no more lover. The lover has been dissolved into the Beloved as sugar in water. The utmost attunement means complete detachment from the world although compassion for fellow human beings is still there. The more one is attuned to the Divine the more power is given to the Sufi. The individual has become nought to the outside world, i.e. utter humility. To become nothing is to ‘die before you die.’ This burning and destruction of the self in order to melt with the Self is the only way to annul the pain of separation. The ego and the Self cannot live together in the chamber of one heart. It is with the help of the teacher or sheikh that we can eradicate the ego. It is also the traditional Sufi practices that help to bring on the grace of God to break the links of attachment to the world. Sometimes we have even to relinquish the desire to merge with God. The final act is to totally ‘surrender’, which is the surest way to empty the space for the Beloved. Once we surrender, the Self rushes to reach us. In the act to surrender the ego the mind just simply melts away. When that happens we see nothing but God. When the ego is present the mind cannot experience unity with God, where there is no duality, no distinction between the observer and the observed. When ‘Fana’ is achieved the individual knows that he has always been united with God. It is the ego that veils us of this Truth.

THE STATE OF ‘AL’ - ‘SOMETHINGNESS’

Unity leads us to ‘Baqa’, ‘abiding in God.’ Baqa is the beginning of a new journey. From thence he becomes more and more lost in God, as he lives in a dual state of separation and union. We need the ego to live and function in the world, but we also know that the Beloved is all the time in our heart. His presence is always there, although He has no form or image. However His Presence is always felt as a guiding force and a sweetness that gives out a lovely fragrance. Finally in meditation we enter into that dark silence and stillness, which confirms that He is at home in our heart. There we abide. In this meditation of silence the expansion of the heart reveals its power in the state of union where, God takes us to God. This is the deepest fulfillment any human can experience. During this last period of attunement and fulfillment the heart spins faster and faster with love energy. This love energy has a much faster velocity than the material body. Sometimes the wayfarer cannot take this pace psychologically and a psychosis may ensue. However, the teacher and the members in the Sufi order can help to prevent the psychosis. Or sometimes he goes into ecstasy, a ‘spiritual drunkenness.’ The group accepts this state endearingly, In the World but not of the World

RELIGIOUS ENLIGHTENMENT

Religion is the key. It is the key of life and itself*. When we say religion, it means a sector based in the form of reality. It is a body and soul of amendment, guarding to the truth. The spiritual form of speech in the heart and soul. Religious is the dominion of the mind and the entire body; to accept and believe morally and mentally in the afore mentioned. If we say that someone is religious – it’s because he is moving, abiding by the laws of a certain religion; be it Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism or Islam etc. With all of the above, there is a most important existing point in them and that is the “Truth”. The truth is the fearing of Allah wherever you may be. The religious leaders should be looked up to; they must move in the route and do according to religion. As we now-a days say:- these religions were the same that the prophets followed – they are left here by them; these prophets are God’s loyal messengers – they do not lie – they do not gossip – they never commit adultery etc; God prepare them. Following a prophet of God is the right way. Allah says: - if you follow the way of my messengers and do as they do. They (prophets) never say of their own, all what they say or do is my (Allah) command. By this, if you do as they say, it’s not them that you abide, but I. God has two types of servants – the abiding and the non abiding ones. If the Almighty lays a law and the non abiding servants ignore it, they will not be under the protection of Allah. He protects only those who abide by his laws and there is no protector other than him. The prophets are human beings. They were born by excellent parents. They get sick like we do; the only different is, they are selected and sent to us by The Almighty Allah. Whenever Allah sends a prophet, it is said onto him that you a mortal like onto us. It is true that they are mortal like us, but they are chose to be our leaders. From the first to the last prophet sent to man, there was no prophet sent to the forest beasts. All of them are human and

thus sent to their fellow humans; this is because man is of all creatures dearer to his lord. Yet man is ungrateful to his lord. The prophets call the people to worship only one God (Allah). In such a case then; their religions can’t be different. They are all sent by one God (Allah) and preaching of the same thing - i.e. worship Allah without ascribing a partner to him. If we say that all the religions are Godly, why then the criticism, suppression and trampling-on? Religion is Sincerity – every prophet has a duty to fulfill and before completing his mission; must tell his people the signs of the next coming prophet. This is to help his people not to be misled by any so-called prophet of Allah. The Bible (Gospel) – given to Issa (Jesus) the son of Mary During his last days before ascending to heaven, he said some words to his people of the coming prophet of Allah. Amongst his statement was that; the name of the coming prophet will be ‘Ahmad’ (One Praised), and when he came they say this is evident sorcery. The name Muhammad and Ahmad are different in spelling, but of the same meaning and from the same root. Jesus says in the Gospel – if you love me keep my commands and I will pray to the father*, he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever, even the spirit of truth {4:15}. In his speech we can understand that he is saying that; another prophet will come after him. In his statement that ‘he will abide with you forever’ – he is saying that the preaching of the coming prophet (comforter) will last in our hearts forever, so there will be no need for another preacher after Ahmad; he is the last and seal of the prophets. As Jesus has already said what he was suppose to say and still now there are misinterpretations in his words. These misinterpretations are the causes of all religious conflicts. It is forbidden for a mere community leader to change the true version of a religious book; this affects the entire human race. The books of the prophets are the guardians of the people, any omission, misinterpretations, bias or self interest will surely mislead the majority of the human race. Jesus is gone and has done his duty, now it’s our duty to hear and obey. If we say that there is no prophet coming after him (Jesus), then we are making a big mistake. Remember the prophets never say of their own, all what they say is from the Almighty Allah, if you believe what they say, it’s not them that you believe but Allah. If you disbelieve them its Allah that you disbelieve – they are his representatives on Earth. This “Forever” doesn’t mean that the comforter will not die a natural death; he is saying that all statements have to reach a completion term and that is to be done by Ahmad. He is the last and seal of the prophets.
