From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project 1435 is a program to improve voting and governanace in America and indeed worldwide.

Newly re-elected Trump has spemt the last decade denigrating the Voting System in America as:

  • Stealable
  • Corrupt
  • Bureaucratic
  • Time consuming
  • Wasteful
  • Costly
  • Exhausting
  • Undemocratic
  • and so on.

And yet America wants to advocate Democracy world-wide. Well America's voting system is not the best on offer. INHO the best system is a blend of those in use in Australia, Ireland and Papua New Guinea all of which use forms of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) to use one of the system's names. There is a dash of hypocracy here.

These flaws in the American democracy have no doubt been noticed world-wide. :-( :-(

Elections in other countries have problems as well, particularly when a presidential election is close and inevitable cries of "fraud" arise.

A feature of democratic systems is the need for the losing side to conceed gracefully on the basis that the elections conducted fairly and efficiently and that there will be another election in a few years time.

It is noted that in the latest general election in South Africa where the ruling party (ANC) lost its majority proceeded clamly under its proportional voting and indirect election of the president.

It is noted that in the latest general election in Türkiye Erdowan barely won in the Runoff. Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) is part of Project1435.
