Personal
[edit]I'm originally from Cheshire, England. Having graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2009, I'm currently working toward my PhD in polymer chemistry at the University of Warwick, I have an interest in almost all chemistry related topics, and a particular interest in the areas of isotopic labelling and polymer science (with emphasis on synthetic methods) as well as nanotechnology.
Outside of chemistry I have various interests, including playing airsoft and practising shotokan karate, I have a strong interest in computers and a newly discovered interest in kendo.
Contributions
[edit]Pages I have created or contributed to (not inculding redirects) include;
- Diphenylmethanol
- Haslington
- Sir Frederick Mappin Building
- Tapton Hall of Residence
- University of Sheffield
- Indigo dye
- Allura Red AC
- Xylenol Orange
Upcoming Pages
[edit]I'm considering expanding/creating the following pages when I get a break from real life;
- Nitroxide Mediated Polymerisation - I know it's not as often used as other methods (ATRP,RAFT etc.) but definitely worth a page of its own.
- N-Carboxyanhydride
- O-Carboxyanhydride
- Polyester - Needs a huge section adding regarding development and applications within biocompatible technologies (i.e. tissue grafting/drug delivery) as well as a good general cleanup.
- Ring-opening polymerization - The current article does anything but justice to this hugely diverse and useful polymerisation methodology.
- Cytisus Scoparius - Minor edit, could use a section dealing with the extraction of (-)-Sparteine (which could incluse a link-back itself).
