My first edit on the 2nd of July 2006 was on Fishbourne Roman Palace, adding the sentence
"The last dig in 2002 produced some interesting results, and the final report is eagerly awaited."
COI (I was one of the diggers), POV, weasel and uncited - and it is still there 3 years later!
A summary of my achievements
[edit]- List of English Heritage properties - an incomplete list with incorrect links made into a complete, fully tested list.
- Cleeve Abbey - The first article I created and took to a completed state, now a B-Class.
- Eastbourne - Driving force in effort to take article to GA status.
- List of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in East Sussex - Completed (& SSSI template improved)
- List of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in West Sussex - Converted and completed
List of SSSI in East Sussex
[edit]I came across this list when it was applying for featured list status - one of the comments was that there were too many red links so forty single line stubs were created.
The article achieved the featured list status and subsequently abandoned along with all the child one line stub articles. As I edited the article in the following weeks I wondered how it had achieved featured article status. There were many incorrect hyperlinks, and misdirected citation links. As for the child articles, I spent lots of time on them, correcting the spelling, adding templates, and improving the infobox so it showed a map.
Why I quit editing
[edit]Having to deal with:
- Editors whose blinkered views result in articles being factually incorrect.
- Editors who think quoting wiki-policy is a substitute for debate/consensus.
- Editors who stalk others with whom they had a disagreement.
What am I doing now
[edit]Creating my own Wikisite, where I can complete my sub-project, without having to worry about editors jealously guarding their own articles.
