Biography
[edit]From an impoverished family with ten brothers and sisters, he struggled as a market helper in Divisoria just to finish a college degree.
He attended elementary at Sta. Rita Elementary School (3rd Honor) and high school at Immaculata Academy of Malolos and Quezon Provincial High School. He worked his way through college and finished BSBA Major in Accounting at the University of the East. A year after, he passed the Accounting Board Examinations.
Career

He started his professional career as Asst. Chief Accountant of E & G Inc. in 1970. He moved to Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. in 1971 as Analysis and Control Assistant and climbed the corporate ladder to become a District Manager in 1979.
In 1981, he started to build a succesful business empire. He ventured in to hauling and gasoline dealership. He became the Chairman of the Board of Solid Packaging and President and GM of AC1 Transport and Eqp. Services Later, he was awarded the maintenance contract for Shell service stations in the entire island of Luzon. Afterwards, he put Archer Realty & Development Corp. to handle St. Agatha Resort & Hotel, a first class subdivision in his native Guiguinto.
Political Life
[edit]Even before politics beckoned, he is accustomed to helping his family, relatives, friends, and the town’s folk of Guiguinto. Feeling that it was his moral obligation now to help his home town and its people, he challenged more politically – seasoned candidates in 1998 and won by a landslide. The rest was history.
After finishing his 3 term as Mayor, “BOY” Cruz transformed Guiguinto from 4th to 1st Class Municipality, a perfect site for skills learning in the province and a model investment place for export – oriented and globally competitive industries. He also empowered the citizenry to become self – reliant by maintaining balanced agricultural and industrial priorities.
Through leadership by example and politics of performance: Mayor Cruz, got elected as president of the League of Municipal Mayors in Bulacan from 2004 – 07. He also distinguished himself by becoming the Executive Vice President of the League of Municipals Mayors of the Philippines for the same period.
He is a nemesis of graft and corruption. His advocacies among others include good governance, accountability, transparency, peace and order, health, livelihood, education and justice for all. HALAMANAN FESTIVAL Established in the year 1999 by Mayor Ambrosio Cruz, Jr., the Halamanan Festival is an annual celebration for Guiguinteños coinciding with the town's foundation day and the Feast of its Patron San Ildefonso. It is a week long celebration featuring Street Dancing Competition, Float Parade, the Mayor's Ulat sa Bayan and Landscaping Contests culminating on January 23 which is the town's fiesta.
