Sarebyu Modamure, sometimes referred to as SareModa and originally founded as Sarebyu, is a daily music-reviewing newsletter headquarted in San Jose, California. The newsletter was founded on June 13, 1952; the newsletter reviews music in every edition, as well as contains music-related news and opinions.
Name
[edit]The name of Sarebyu Modamure, despite having Japanese origins in parts of its name, has no meaning in any language. The name is divided into three parts.
Sa
[edit]The first part of the name, "Sa," came from the English word "the."
Rebyu
[edit]The second part, "Rebyu," is Japanese for "review."
Modamure
[edit]The third part of the name, "Modamure," pronounced "mo-da-moo-ray," has no meaning. Its name came from the first letter of the newsletter's slogan: The Modern Day Music Reviewer.
