A note about my approach to Wikipedia:
Wikipedia entries are sometimes remarkably good--their grammar is correct, their consistency from section to section is notable, and their grounding in evidence is clear. Those entries are helpful to a wide range of educated readers. Alas, other entries (a) amount to little more than bad translations from the German, Spanish, French, and other Wikipedias, (b) are ungrammatical, to the point of being incomprehensible, (c) or are derived from published secondary sources that can't be found in WorldCat or on the web. I see my "job" at Wikipedia as essentially editorial. Wikipedia is a "diamond in the rough." We users can help by doing a little polishing here and there, and/or making original contributions. I'll add to this page after successful polishing or writing or both. As a professional historian and amateur logician, I've had several decades of relevant experience; I hope to add to Wikipedia's luster.
