AS-PL Ltd (stylized record: AS-PL) - a Polish enterprise based in Gdansk, dealing in the production and distribution of alternators and starters.
History
[edit]The company was established in 1992 in Gdańsk, as Auto-Starter – Kaszubowska Danuta. At the beginning, Auto Starter distributed automotive parts mainly in Poland.
In 2004, products manufactured under the own brand name “AS” were introduced. In response to our customers’ demands and continuous development in the automotive industry, the company introduced starter and alternator remanufacturing to its range of services.
Currently, the company is the largest supplier of alternators and starters in Poland and one of the leaders on the worldwide aftermarket.
The company employs over 260 people.
Activities
[edit]AS-PL offers more than 15,000 different products with a total of almost 200,000 reference numbers. The offered products include parts and components for passenger cars, lorries, agricultural machines, boats, motorcycles, and for the industrial market.
The company's products are exported to over 60 countries around the world.
The company is a member of the Association of Distributors and Manufacturers of Automotive Parts (SDCM) in Poland.[1]
In 2017, AS-PL Ltd established a company for the British market called AS-PL UK Ltd. which is part of the AS-PL capital group. The registered office of the company is London. At the end of last year, the newly formed company became a certified member of the IAAF[2] (The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation) on the British market.
From 2018 AS-PL products can be found in a prestigious British MAM Software Autocat v8 catalogue.[3]
In 2018, the company was honored with the “Eagles of the Wprost” (pol. Orły Wprost) award of the Polish “Wprost” magazine.[4] AS-PL was among the awarded companies whose achieved the highest average net profit in the last three years, as well as the largest average percentage increase in net profit.
The company invests in the development of young talents. In 2018, for the second time, was a sponsor of the Automotive Technology Olympiad in Warsaw - Poland.
