Early Life:
Adil C was born on April 7, 1997 in Montreal, Quebec and grew up in Mississauga, Ontario where he attended Ruth Thompson Middle School, and Stephen Lewis Secondary School. His parents are from Pakistan. Although he was born in Quebec, he only knows a few words in French. He was about the age of 8 when he first picked up an instrument and was introduced to music. In his early childhood life, his parents owned a small clothing brand and had a small boutique in a market located in Mississauga, Ontario where he grew up. When he was little, he would tag along with his parents on the weekends going to their clothing store and would wander around nearby stores beside them letting his curiosity take the wheel. His first time stumbling upon a small music store in the market was the beginning to his grand pop music career. The store would introduce many different types of instruments every so often. He went from picking up his first guitar in that music store, learning his basic chords, picking up rhythm on percussion drum sets out on display, to then being introduced to a microphone where he realized that vocals were his main outlet. For the most part, Adil C is a self-taught singer, musician who has educated himself abundantly with knowledge from peers, school teachers, and YouTube/online programs. Before Adil C made a name for himself with all the talent he has, he was heavily involved with school talent shows and music events showcasing and performing in front of class mates and all students. Any talent show he would land whether it was in middle school or high school, he would always get the grand finale closing acts.
Career:
2011-2018: Career Beginnings and Good Enough
Before Adil C dived into the world of pop music, at the age of 14 he was the singer/songwriter in his former band Sins of Sincerity. His background comes from the musical world of rock music, touring, and multi-instrument studio recording experience. With him having a history in rock music, it gave him incredible talents with guitar, percussion, studio production and sound design. However, Adil C only gained his vocal attractive abilities after the age of 18. With him being the frontman/singer for his musical acts, he had many years of hate and bullying until he finally found his voice and had a huge turn over for old fans and new listeners tuning in. He is easily seen as a talent that’s deeply involved in the creation of his music. Since he would be taking on so many tasks as an individual artist in a band of 4-5 people, it was extremely difficult for him to handle majority of the work load. With exceptional reason, he took a break from the rock scene to regain his creative energy. Along his small hiatus, Adil C was introduced to his first Justin Bieber song that he had heard with full clarity on his Apple earbuds, and completely fell in love with it. That song was ‘Let Me Love You’ by DJ Snake and Justin Bieber. The track resonated with him on such a level that he believed pop vocals was his divine avenue that he could connect with. Adil C wanted to see what he could do outside the genre of rock, so he dove into the world of pop music. It was September 7th 2018, where his debut single ‘Good Enough’ was released and blew away not only his fans and old bandmates, but even his haters who used to despise his music. His following on social media started to sky rocket and fans were spreading the word that Adil C was becoming a popstar. Ever since he made his life changing decision on releasing ‘Good Enough’, he knew that becoming a pop singer was his true destiny as Adil C. 2019-2020: Where Are You, and Perfect Glow
After the singer’s success in all of 2018, Adil C started writing his single ‘Where Are You’. He had written this song during the early start of the year and expressed to his fans on social media that he had a huge pop single he’s been working on for months. Coming April 2019, after months of teasers and sneak peaks of the new song, Adil C released ‘Where Are You’ which is now known as one of his biggest songs. ‘Where Are You’ was produced together by Dylan Werle and Adil C. The singer is very involved in the production and creative process of his songs. Dylan Werle has also worked on prior releases for Adil C back in his days within the rock scene. Adil C is known to work with producers he can connect with on a musical level and can deliver the best final pop song possible. Together Adil C and Dylan Werle worked on the single for months between studios in Toronto and Pennsylvania. The song has broken over a million streams on Spotify and was the classic emotional pop hit for Adil C to be put on the map.
Late 2019/Early 2020 Adil C flew out to Los Angeles, California to meet with friends, singers, producers, executives. After he spent the 2020 new year in LA, Adil C was invited by Ricky England to do a guest vocal performance at Universal Studios Hollywood CityWalk where Adil C sang ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber along with an original by Ricky England called ‘To Be Bold’. Ricky England and Adil C sang together as a duet for his guest appearance for all of CityWalk. Midway of January Adil C connected with Adam KG who introduced him to GRAMMY Nominated Songwriter, Producer, and Engineer Mischke at Le Pain Quotidien on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, as well as Trinity Rose. Mischke, who had worked with Michael Jackson and has tons of music background from Toronto, was great for Adil C since they shared many similarities with Adil C’s background with Ontario, Canada and his childhood influence from Michael Jackson.
Many music executives and managers started hearing the name Adil C more often. After he came back to his city in Canada, Republic Records former President Charlie Walk, and Adil C started to get connected on Instagram. He ended up working with Charlie Walk on his music and started getting mentored by the former president of Republic Records. “I actually didn’t expect that kind of sound from you, and in fact I’m blown away. You’re going places.” – said Charlie Walk when he first heard Adil C’s music. He would attend many zoom meetings and phone calls with Charlie Walk and show him exclusive music that he had been working on in the studio. One of those songs happened to be ‘Perfect Glow’. While Charlie Walk kindly helped Adil C in many ways around the industry and with his pop music, Adil C never signed anything exclusive with him but kept a genuine friend-mentor relationship with Charlie Walk.
On March 2020 ‘Perfect Glow’ was officially released. Adil C stepped away from the emotional heartfelt sound he originally had with his first two releases, and focused more on an uplifting energetic dance feel. The song was also produced again by Dylan Werle, and Adil C but this time Dylan’s brother, Shaun Werle stepped into the production process to help finalize and master the song. ‘Perfect Glow’ was another success song for Adil C being streamed over a million times. The song was written by Adil C in 2019, however the production for the song happened while he was in California and had Mishke critique ‘Perfect Glow’ in the Grammy producer’s studio in West Hollywood.
