Jerry Bangura is a Sierra Leonean poet, author and a Singer who was born in Freetown. He is the only child to his parents. Jerry started schooling at the Beckyln Nursery and Preparatory School from Pre School unto Prep(5) where he sat to the National Primary School Examination (NPSE). After an Outstanding performance at the NPSE, Jerry Started his Secondary Schooling at the Sierra Leone Grammar School starting from JSS 1 unto SSS 4 where he sat to the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Jerry wrote his first poem when he was in JSS 3 titled "THE SOUND OF A GENERATOR". He was having a particular interest in the sound produced by a Generator. Jerry always admired the works of William Shakespeare and Bryan Tracy. Over the years, Jerry has written a number of poems Such as " The Ticking Clock", "Had I Known", " The Journey Ahead". Jerry has more Interest in true life poems rather than fictions. In 2019, Jerry won the Spontaneous Poetry Competition. Jerry Bangura is also a Playwright and an author. He wrote his first book titled "The Rescuers" when he was in SSS3 and is on the verge of publishing another. Jerry is Currently working on his first Anthology of poems titled "LILOVE" A poem that he believes will change the mindset of humans. Jerry is also working in close collaboration with Sidikie Bayoh, Doreen Deigh, Ibrahim Munu, Alisious Ligurie Kongo, and Daisy Abdulai. Jerry's mentor and editor is Mr. Victor Janjue-Browne. And for him, life is just getting started for the young Poet.
