I'll try to find time to write about the problems of healthcare and medicine in Georgia and the history of medicine in Georgia, all of which are grossly underreported by Wikipedia. I also plan to work on general medical topics. The history and culture of Georgia are also within my scope of interest.
I live, study and work in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. I'm ethnic Georgian with documented distant Iranian ancestry. An interesting, but apparently false, family legend traces my maternal ancestors to as far as India. My family gravely suffered under Stalin's rule and also lost several members on the fronts of Second World War. I am a determined enemy of authoritarianism, fascism and communism. I think that there was no difference between Hitler and Stalin, and, hence, between Hitler's Reich and Stalin's Union. I consider Stalin's remaining colossus in his native Gori, Georgia a huge disgrace for my country as a symbol of the seven decades of Soviet occupation of Georgia and debasement of its society. I'm in opposition to the current government of Georgia because I think it could have done more to modernize the country, but I appreciate its efforts to reform education and military. I am also heavily dissatisfied with the current state of Georgia's healthcare system and medical education. I'm a dedicated supporter of Georgia's pro-Western course and think that the future of Georgia's security lies within NATO or a bilateral military alliance with the United States.
