Monroe Station was the local Erie Railroad station built in Monroe, New York at Mapes Place. The station served the village with two side platforms and a station depot on the eastbound tracks. The station used the New York Division of the Erie's main line from Pavonia Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey to Dearborn Station in Chicago, Illinois. The next station to the east (towards Pavonia Terminal) was Harriman and the next station to the west was Oxford.

The station was a basic Type IV depot, similar to the one at Carlton Hill in East Rutherford. Built in August of 1913 to replace the older station depot built in 1841, it sat on a separate foundation next to the eastbound platform. The depot was closed by the Erie in 1960, ending its use of a ticket agent. On July 5, 1977, the closed depot was burned down by an arsonist. The last train to use the station platforms at Monroe was a Metro-North Railroad train on April 15, 1983. The rails in front of the station were removed just a year later. (It is now the Orange Heritage Trail) However, the former 1841 station depot remains standing, 170 years after it opened.
