Until June is an alternative rock band on Flicker Records from Hollywood, CA.

History

[edit]

Josh Ballard, Dan Ballard, Chris Foley, and Justin Turley self-produced and released several EPs and played many shows in the Hollywood area, as the band Juune. They did everything they could to get the attention of major labels, including "hop the fence at Capitol Records and put flyers on cars" said Josh Ballard. All of that did pay off as they gained interest from Capitol Records, but the melodic sound and falsetto voices for which they are known were not enough to convince Capitol to offer a contract at the time. Disappointed but resolved to get signed, they set a deadline for June 2006. If they did not have a record contract by then, they would call it quits. In the Spring of 2004, Justin Turley left the band to move closer to his family in Texas, and he was replaced by Jamie Pitts. Juune continued to self-produce and release EPs and label interest began growing in late 2004. In the Spring of 2005, as Juune was in the early stages of negotiating with several labels, Chris Foley left the band to get married, and Jamie Pitts left to continue pursuing his academic goals. Benji Vander Broek and Daniel Dempsey joined the band shortly thereafter, but Benji left by mutual agreement only a few months later. In late Summer 2005, Juune signed to Flicker Records/Sony BMG. Due to legal concerns, the name Juune was changed to Until June in honor of the deadline they had originally set. Their self-titled debut LP, featuring Josh on keys and vocals, Dan on guitar, Daniel on drums, and Chris Foley on bass, will be released in April 2007.
