The Miss BC Coast contest was created in 2005, as a preliminary to the Miss World Canada contest. The Miss World Canada competition is the preliminary for the Miss World competition.[1] For the first ever Miss BC Coast contest, held on July 30th, 2005, there were 12 girls from across the province competing for the title. The contestants competed in categories such as: Private interview, evening gown, speech presentations, tourism presentations, and talent presentations. The winner of the Miss BC Coast 2005 pageant, Sasha Abunnadi, will be representing British Columbia at the Miss World Canada pageant, in July, 2006.[2] The Miss World Canada pageant will be held in Toronto.
The Miss BC Coast director (as of 2006), and founder of the Miss BC Coast competition, is Darren Storsley.[3]
The 2006 Miss BC Coast competition will be held on July 8,2006.
Operated by the same organization is the Miss Teen BC Coast contest.[4] Alex Keiser of Pitt Meadows was named Miss Teen BC Coast in March of 2006.[5]
