Miss Quote, a feminist force of talent and poise that is definitively like no other. Her philosophy seems to transport itself through osmosis of some sorts, and latches delicately to societal and personal relevance. The ravened hair beauty hails from Montego Bay, Jamaica; which she regards’ playfully as her heart beat.
Miss Quote’s birthright is secured, being the daughter of Trinidadian musical prodigy Cabot Paul and Vivienne Paul a respected intellect and vocalist. That being said, Miss Quote always had an affinity for music and the power of words. Largely influenced by Nina Simone, Jeff Buckley, Phyllis Hyman, Bob Marley, Billy Holliday, Maya Angelou, Sylvia Plath, Sade, and Louise Bennett; one can surely presume her ambition. She is many things, singer, song writer, actress, author but her definition remains rooted as “Miss Quote, The Spoken Word Poet”, her deep dedication to her craft is partnered with a reverence that speaks to her consciousness to influence and unite.
Miss Quote approaches her audiences dexterously and thoughtfully, wanting nothing more but to influence recovery and empowerment within the minds of her audience. Self discovered and governed she sings with subtle vocal rebellion and range. Her voice is that of profundity and aptitude that grips her audience evoking change using comfortable familiarities. As her audience swells in volume they will be guaranteed to be drenched in truth and pleasant contradictions.
In her infancy Miss Quote started out developing her craft at open mics in South Florida under the mentorship of the late Will the Real One Bell, a celebrated community activist and HBO Def Poet Alumni. To this day she can be found performing at open mics in any given city as she regards the outlet candidly as her beginning,
