[edit]About Me
[edit]Hello, I am Mintsnowflake38 and thank you for visiting my user page. I am a student in the West Coast who is organized, hardworking, and loving. Some things I like doing are following up on the latest fashion trends, doing make-up, and hair. I recently found an interest in baking and I have been very proud of my creations. It amazes me how chemistry is involved in everything around us including baking.[1] In the future, I would like to either become an orthodontist or work in the business industry.[2]
My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]If I were to end up working on content here over the long term, I would focus on informing people about skincare. Skincare is something I am very passionate about which is why I would enjoy teaching people about it in order for them to let go of their insecurities and become the best version of themselves. Skincare is something most people do not take seriously, but taking care of your skin will benefit you in the long run.[3]
Article Evaluation
[edit]For a long time now, the gender pay gap has been a problem to our society and it is something that still needs to be resolved. I visited the Gender pay gap in the united states tech industry article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: are any of the links dead?, is the article up to date?, and is each fact cited with an appropriate, reliable source?
Are any of the Links Dead?
[edit]In this article, there was one dead link. The link was provided in the part of the article where it mentions the pay gap in the tech industry, which was part of the statistics paragraph. Besides this dead link, there were no other dead links in this article.
Is the Article up to Date?
[edit]From the information in the article, it would be considered that the article is up to date. The last overall edit was on 1 June, 2020 and as for the article itself, it provides evidence and statistics from 2018 and 2019. For example, the article talked about women receiving job offers that pay less than what males would get paid. "In 2018, reports show that for every dollar the average man made, women only made 82 cents..." [4] That report was made in 2018 which proves that the article is up to date.
Is Each Fact Cited With a Reliable Source?
[edit]Throughout this article, there are many reliable sources provided for the information that is being stated. In total, there were 18 sources that were used to create this article. Most of which are up to date. The oldest article is from 2016 and the most recent one being from 2019. For example, there was one resource that was from the New York Times. While others showed some sort of graph to show the statistics as to how women get paid less than males. If not all, each fact was cited with a well reliable source to support it.
