The Shanghai EDITION is a hotel located at 199 Nanjing Road East, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. The EDITION brand is designed by Ian Schrager[1], and cooperated with Marriott International. The hotel has 27 floors with a total of 145 guest rooms[2]. The design of the hotel includes 5 conference studios and 2 forum areas, totaling over 265 square meters of public spaces. The hotel has several places for foods and drinks include a Japanese restaurant, Cantonese restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant, 3 lounge bars, an indoor club room and 2 rooftop bars[3].
Building's History
[edit]The hotel is renovated from two historic buildings located at Nanjing Road East. One is the original Shanghai Power Company, built in 1929[4]. The main building of the hotel is former East China Electric Power Building built in 1988[5]. The 126-meter-tall building was the highest building along the Bund at that moment. The final plan of Shanghai EDITION is to renovate the interior and leave the facade unchanged.
Room Types
[edit]The Shanghai EDITION has 145 rooms occupies the 7th to 26th floor (there are no 13th, 14th and 24th floors). There are 12 types of guest rooms[6], including 10 suites with the Bund views, 2 terrace suites and 1 penthouse suite. The room views vary from the city views to the Bund view depending on the orientation of the rooms and floors.

[edit]The hotel is surrounded by the Nanjing Road business district. Hotel guests could reach many local attractions in a relatively short time.
