I'm a writing teacher at San Diego State University and a novelist with a special area of study -- the history of and life in northern Switzerland in the 13th century. Yes, it's a narrow focus -- even more narrow, actually, as it's centered on ONE small area north of Zurich, the village of Gfenn, its small church and its history as a leper hospital run by the Knights of St. Lazarus.
