Born in Hong Kong to a Chinese mother and a British father, Chao moved to South Korea when she was very young, where she was sent to a boarding school, before attending university in San Diego in the US for four years, where she furthered her studies on linguistics. Chao currently lives in the UK, but one day hopes to move to New Zealand to live with her parents. A strong supporter of animal rights, she is also a flexi-vegetarian ;)
