Hi, I'm Milesjolly1997 and I live in Suffolk, England,  United Kingdom. I was born on 9 August 1997. Notable things that happened on my birthday include the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902, the Bombing of Nagasaki, Japan in 1945, and the Resignation of US President Richard Nixon in 1974. I share a birthday with Romano Prodi, the former Prime Minister of Italy, Leonid Kuchma, the former President of Ukraine, the actor Robert Shaw, Joop den Uyl, the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, John Key, the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, Gillian Anderson from The X-Files, Whitney Houston, the actress and singer-songwriter, and the actress Melanie Griffith, and loads of other people.

I have a wide range of interests including politics, religion, zoology, ethology, conservation, history, geography and cinema. I love listening to music and enjoy most of the stuff I have come across. I also love watching Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry cartoons. I like most genres of films, particularly Comedy, Horror, Thriller, and Drama.

Places I have visited during my life

I have visited Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, which is an autonomous community of Spain; I have also visited Wales, France, and Malta. I have also done a fair amount of travelling around England, including Cornwall, Sheringham, Felixstowe, Aldeburgh, Yorkshire, Blackpool, Lincoln, Winterton, London, and Kessingland. In June and July 2016, I spent a week travelling in the Netherlands visiting five different zoos. In February 2018, I spent 10 days in South Africa; I travelled there with Qatar Airways and we stopped off in Doha, Qatar during the flight. I also travelled to Scotland in October 2018; I visited Fort William, Mallaig, and the Isle of Rum.

Wikipedia and me

My work at present consists mainly of minor edits and corrections e.g. creating more links to other articles and correcting spelling and grammatical errors; therefore I see myself as a WikiGnome. I'm not an admin and I have no interest in being one. I believe that redirection is preferable to deletion. When creating new links, I try to use the given name of the article I am linking to as it looks neater. For example, if writing about the Soviet Union, any links would be written as Soviet Union as opposed to USSR, which automatically redirects to the Soviet Union article. I have significantly contributed to the following articles:

  • Yun Hyon-seok (made some corrections to the grammatical structure of the article but more work needed)
