Greetings All.

An early Zeiss microscope Stativ Vb from the 1881 catalog

I am a retired scientist from the US with time to try to do something useful. I created an account in about 2004 but found that I had no time before retirement. My training is as a synthetic chemist and my work experience in drug discovery. I am a competent translator from German to English. I will start my efforts by translating some excellent German language articles on the history and the personalities associated with early microscope development.

I have an extensive collection of microscopes and technical references concerning particularly Zeiss and Hartnack / Oberhaeuser history.
