Mikko presents is the public persona of writer, actor, director, historian mikko (michael john) macchione.

He is the author of "Napoleon House," a book on one of New Orleans' classic bars. His newest book, "Rum: a Drinking Guide to New Orleans" comes out in the summer of 2018.

He has also written the text for Kerri McCaffety's photo books - "Obituary Cocktail," "Masking and Madness," The Majesty of the French Quarter," "New Orleans New Elegance," Luxury and Inequity," "Natchez," and "City Park."
