Song |
"Butterflies" is a song written by Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson, performed by Alana Lee Hamilton, a 14 year-old singer signed with ARK Music Factory. The song was released on the video streaming site YouTube on the 7th October 2010, and on the ARK Music Factory website on 15th November 2010.
Reception
[edit]Hamilton went relatively un-noticed by the public eye until the release of another of ARK's songs, "Friday" by Rebecca Black. It was Hamilton who originally introduced Black to the ARK company, and ironically, while Black's song was widely ridiculed over the internet, the success of Hamilton's song has rocketed and become much more popular than Black's. YouTube views of "Butterflies" increased from under 200,000 around the release of "Friday", to over 2,444,000 views on the March 22, only 8 days later.
