I'm (1988-present) a student at Olympic College studying for my Bachelor's degree in organizational leadership and technical management.

I have my Associate's in welding technology. I'm a mid-distance runner, gamer, artist, and I recently picked up the guitar. I sometimes go down to the art walk in downtown Bremerton to view other people's work, or listen to their music.

I don't sell any of my work, but I bring some of it down for others to see, hopefully to inspire them. I ran my first marathon here in Bremerton last year and got 11th place out of 200. I've lived in Bremerton for about 21 years now, but I'm not from around here. I was born in the midwest, then lived in Germany for 5 years, in Frankfort.

My father, who I'm named after, was in the army, stationed in Frankfort at the time of my birth in 1988. A fun fact is that Russia was still the Soviet Union when I was born. My father was actually at the Berlin wall when it collapsed, and I get to say I was alive and living in Germany when it happened. I moved to Bremerton when I was about 6 and have lived here since. I dropped out of high school during senior year and didn't get my GED until I was 26. I wanted to better my life and quit working dead jobs to make ends meet.

During my time at college I learned how to think, and to look at things with a beginner's mind. I'm 28, going on 29 in December, and actually feel quite accomplished in the last few years.

Review

I visited this page on Wikipedia , as a runner who occasionally competes in marathons once in awhile I was very curious about Jim fixx who is considered a advocate and running legend . He had written books about running, help start the fitness revolution here in the united states and he also has a great story when it came to the before and after when he started running. I never knew much about him, but heard about him on a comedy skit with Denise Leary once and ever since then I decided to figure out who he really was. I found three aspects of it worth commenting on to be the citations, the age of this page, and the structure of the page.

Citations

The citations on this page is actually not half bad, the citations on himself, father, and his father colleges are rather impressive. The citation links actually work and have detailed information on them. However, the links to all of Jim Fixx's books are a bit lacking, the links are only on some of his books written. The references are very good though, the links work, the dates seem legit, and the links go directly to the page such as an article on Jim Fixx's death. I would prefer more citations on the topic on Jim Fixx himself and not this books when I'm on his home page.

Age

The age of this page I was able to date back to September, 2003 but the newest revision was made on July, 2017. Even though the page is pretty old people to this very day are still constantly revising and/or adding things to this page. However, i think that the page being this old would be much longer with much more relevant edits.

Structure

I would have to say the structure itself is definitely organized, but i feel the page might not explain enough about his life it does mention all the books he wrote and about his death with the details. They did however left the links to almost all the detail but even so, this is supposed to be the home page for the guy. I would like more information on his running carrier, and maybe a longer page too.

Summary

Overall, this page is pretty good and many people obviously care enough about this guy because they are still making changes to it. The links and citations are very good with the exception of missing a few of his books, the links that are there do all still work which says something about the dedication people made to this. But the page itself does leave details of his life, i managed to find much more about him in the New York Times. The information that is there is accurate.
