Hi, my name is Mikael Böök (Boeoek), I was born 1947 in Helsinki, Finland. I have a working experience as translator, electrician, school teacher, adult educationist and provider of internet services My formal education is a Master of Arts in philosophy, sociology and history from Helsinki university (1973). I am the father of three younger persons, and the grandfather of two. My publications include a book on computer mediated communication (1989) [1] + articles and essays in Swedish, Finnish and English on the libraries and the transformations of the public sphere. [2] The most recent book by me, Biblioteksaktivisten - essäer om makt och bibliotek i informationssamhället, Artemisia edizioni 2013, analyses the position and role of the library institution in the power structure of the so called information society. The book also contains sections about Wikipedia.
