Sonja Overhiser is an American cookbook author, food blogger, and entrepreneur known for co-founding the food blog and recipe website A Couple Cooks with her husband, Alex Overhiser.
Career
[edit]Overhiser started A Couple Cooks in 2010[1] with her husband Alex, inspired by their transition from eating processed foods to cooking meals from scratch at home.
Overhiser is the co-author of two cookbooks:
- "A Couple Cooks: 100 Recipes to Cook Together" (2024), ISBN 9781797222998
- "Pretty Simple Cooking" (2018), ISBN 9780738219707
She has contributed recipes and articles to various publications, including The Washington Post, where she co-wrote the newsletter series "Voraciously: Plant Powered" on plant-based and vegetarian cooking.
Recognition

- Indy Women in Food[6]: An organization that champions women in the Indianapolis food industry, focusing on racial and gender equity and food justice.
