Richard Heaton born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Lived in New York, Texas and Puerto Rico. Richard's mother (Laura Ann) worked as a professional model for many years, living in downtown Chicago's Marina Towers later moving to Los Angeles, California in the early 70s. Richard's mother passed away on her birthday, July 16th in the year 2009.

Richard's aunt was Ms. Texas, and made the covers of Life, Look Magazines. Later she became a runner-up (third place) for the Ms. USA pageant. Would later marry Dr. Bart Jones Sr. of Houston, Texas.

Richard was one of the original band members of the 1974 Rock-n-Roll group called "Point Blank". Starting out as a "Rock" club band, playing gigs at such places like Dallas "Mother Blues", and later becoming a backup band for Texas hit rockers ZZ Top, Charlie Daniels Band, among others.

Special note: Mother Blues, Dallas, Texas. Richard & Point Blank performed here several times. This was the first time and place Richard and Patricia went out with close friends. Richard was so nervous around Patricia that night, he couldn't even dance with her. This was the first evening Richard and Patricia met. Patricia recalls him dancing with everyone else but me. Later, she would become his wife in 1978. ...the rest "is" history!

Mother Blues was the hottest place to be in Dallas between 1971 and 1981 according to owner's Bill Simonson and Doug Meador. You never knew what group touring would stop by, and there were many such as Thin Lizzy, Led Zepplein, Rod Stewart, Deep Purple, Runaways, Stephen Stills, David Bowie, Bad Company, & Frank Zappa. You just had to be there to believe it. Mother Blues had some of the very best Texas rock bands playing almost every weekend.

Point Blank reached #20 on Billboard Magazine's Rock Tracks chart. Subsequently, the hit song Nicole was released as a 45 RPM single and peaked inside the Top 40, at #39 on Billboard's Hot 100. In their early heyday, the group was known for their relentless touring. The group was discovered & managed by Lone Wolfe Productions, same as ZZ Top.

This band toured with some of the best southern rock groups of the time. Such as Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. At the very last minute, the band got news about being a backup gig for the rock group KISS. This was a world tour. The band didn't even have time to pack, had to purchase clothes, toothpaste, etc., while on the road.

Richard & wife Patricia are former founders/owners of Heaton Victorian Properties, and The Woldert-Spence Manor.

Patricia Heaton has a story of her own: Retired Director and Curator of The 1859 Goodman-Legrand Museum, in Tyler, Texas, a state & national landmark. Patricia Heaton has complete knowledge about the Goodman Museum, about the major renovations she was personally involved in, the mansions history, special events she planned, tv & radio interviews, public tours through the museum which would come alive as she tells the stories of the people who have made the mansion their home. Patricia notes: "The Goodman-LeGrand family was very active socially in Tyler, and East Texas, hosting large formal dinner parties for important city and state officials, including three Texas governors".

Richard retired from Law Enforcement in late December, 2014, after having a number of supervisor positions. Richard Heaton and his wife Patricia (U.S. Army veteran), were also active in the United Methodist Church, marriage of over 40 years (1978) and are now living in United States according to multiple sources. The couple enjoys traveling throughtout Europe, Canada, South America, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and of course the United States.
