Expression Paralysis

"Expression paralysis" refers to the difficulty or struggle in displaying the right facial expressions at the appropriate moment, typically caused by feelings of tension, nervousness or discomfort. This phenomenon can occur in social situations, where individuals may find it challenging to convey their emotions accurately through facial expressions to others due to heightened nervousness or stress. During an expression paralysis, a person may feel inhibited or frozen, making it hard to respond or making the facial expressions naturally to social cues or emotional prompts. While not a formally recognized term, it encapsulates a real and relatable experience that some individuals encounter in social interactions.

I don't know if this term ever existed. I felt it yesterday. Felt it many times but my brain ignored it and eventually I forgot. As I was able to remember this phenomenon again an hour ago, I'm writing about it now.Micky Maverick (talk) 23:13, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
