Although the article is on the short side, the information located inside of it is relevant to the gender reveal and gender reveal parties.  The article was not distracting, and the elements located within the article stayed on track. I do not think that this article is neutral because there are strong claims that gender reveals are not necessarily something to be celebrated for. This is due to problems with testing methods and issues. Furthermore, gender stereotypes are also pointed out, where the gender binary is enforced by gender reveal parties, although gender identities have been diverging from the binary. The viewpoints that are overrepresented are the negative aspects of gender reveals and the problems that arise: gender binaries and gender disorders.  

Yes, the citations to the article work. They also support the claims made in the article. The claims support the position that tests are not perfectly accurate when determining the sex of the baby, and that even sex assignment after birth may not be accurate. Furthermore, gender stereotypes have citations that point our the gendered behaviors in society that are considered norms. Some of the facts are listed with reliable sources, however some are not. For instance, one fact is referenced to the Michigan State University’s journal of medicine and law, while another fact is listed with USA Today, a less reliable source. This source may include bias and for the USA Today source, the bias is not noted. Furthermore, the Chrisin Scarlett Milloy article that is listed as a source that was referenced includes bias. This information comes from a person that is clearly pointed on the side of infant gender assignment not being a valid way of determining the sex of a child because it could turn out horrible wrong.

The information is to date except for one article that is from 1993 that talks about what sex and gender is. This information is not really out of date, but an article that is more recent could be added to the wiki page. More information on gender stereotypes could be added, and the introduction of gender reveals and the description about them, could have information added to each section. On the talk page, there has been contemporary debates on the information of gender reveals coming from one side and has a strong bias. A person had replied back and said that they tried to condense the information down and separated the two issues, infant’s gender rather than sex and gender stereotypes, instead. Other people have said that certain sections are heavily one sided and that multiple pieces of information were removed. People in the talk section argued about the difference between gender and sex, and figured out how to resolve this information in the article itself.

This wiki article is rated as stub-class because the beginning of the article needs more information and is too short. Furthermore, it is not part of any WikiProjects. In class, the discussion between gender stereotypes and differences were pointed out. However, this article differs from class discussions because the information that is pointed out in the articles are directed towards gender stereotypes and binaries that exist in society. Most discussions that occurred in class were about the differences on how men and women are treated in fields of technology and science, however, this article differs because it starts before birth and is a way of celebrating the gender of the baby before it is born.
