I'm planning on editing and expanding the topic of Racial segregation of churches in the United States. This topic is important because it has greatly impacted communities and individuals for centuries. It continues to be an issue in some areas of the US, and more people could benefit from access to this knowledge.
This page could use some restructuring because some of the headers are misleading and confusing. The article has a good foundation, but many of the subheadings are vague. The different denominations could also be fleshed out, especially the Baptist section as it has a clear racial divide between different Baptist churches. Additionally, some of the original author’s explanations of the relation between segregation in churches and churchgoers’ racist attitudes need clarification. We would also like to add topics such as the importance of religion to various races and current issues in church segregation.
