DIY Captions

DIY Captions is a web-based application for transcribing the spoken content of YouTube videos. For YouTube videos with "automatic captions," DIYCaptions makes those automatic captions editable, so that errors in transcription can be corrected, and provides an integrated editor where the YouTube video and an editing box for modifying the automatic captions, along with an interactive transcript for being able to quickly navigate to any place in a video are provided. The app also has many keyboard shortcuts for use when editing text, including keystrokes for converting the case of a character or of a selection from lower case to upper case or vice versa, and keystrokes for quickly inserting punctuation with one keystroke.
