New article name USMC Captain Jerry Zimmer (Birthdate– August 29, 1969) was an F4 Phantom pilot, whose aircraft was shot down approximately 20 miles South of Da Nang, Vietnam. He had been in the country six months when the event occurred. Neither Jerry nor his navigator, 1st Lt. Al Graf, were able to eject because of the altitude of the aircraft and other factors. Jerry and Al were classified as MIA, but believed to be KIA because of the lethal weaponry on their aircraft.
