The Saint was a Thai string combo band under the NP Promotion label of famous DJ Narucha Phengphon (later merged with Original Sound to become Nithithat Promotion). They gained fame between 1981–1984 with numerous hits such as "Roi La Yeesip" (20%), "Rak Roi Percent" (100% Love), "Aor Aor Mor 6" (Grade 12), "Puean Jai" (Heart's Friend), "Mek Dum" (Dark Cloud), "Phap Bad Ta" (Offensive Picture), "Fan Pai Thoet" (Keep Dreaming), and "Tham Yang Ngai Dee" (What Should I Do). Notable members included Namwong Hongwilai, known as Tum Kradumthong, a former lead singer of the Shampoo band, and Somprasong Singhawannawat.
Their first album, released in 1981, was titled "Super Top Hits," featuring covers of popular international songs of that era. The following year, in 1982, the band released their second album, "Phleng Rak Nakbun" (Saint's Love Songs), which included hits like "Roi La Yeesip" (20%), adapted from an Arabic tune, and "Rak Roi Percent" (100% Love), adapted from the song "Hoshi Furu Machikado."
In 1983, they released their third album, which was untitled because the songs were part of the soundtrack for the movie "Mor 6" (Grade 12), starring Attapol Ruangjinda and Pairama Ratchata. Known songs from this album include "Rian Pen Lak" (Study First), "Aor Aor Mor 6" (Grade 12), "Puean Jai" (Heart's Friend), and "Mek Dum" (Dark Cloud), with the latter two written by lead singer Tum Namwong.
In 1984, they released their fourth and final album, "Phap Bad Ta" (Offensive Picture), which combined nine songs from the previous album (excluding "Burenong") with three new tracks: "Phap Bad Ta" (Offensive Picture), "Fan Pai Thoet" (Keep Dreaming), and "Tham Yang Ngai Dee" (What Should I Do). The band also welcomed a new member, Somprasong Singhawannawat, who joined as a keyboardist and lead singer and was assigned to sing the three new songs in the album. The band members eventually went their separate ways.[1]
