Fariha Pervez (born February 02، 1972 in Lahore, Pakistan) is a popular female singer of Pakistan. She has a family background of talented artists such as Talat Siddiqui, Nahid Siddiqui and Arifa Siddiqui. Fariha inherited her passion for singing from her father who wanted to become a singer but his family opposed.[1]
Though Fariha aspired a degree in Psychology, fate had singing as a career choice for her. Fariha names her cousin Arifa Siddiqui and Asha Bhosle as her inspiration. Fariha started out by singing jingles and hosting a children's singing show named "Aangan Aangan Taarey." In 1995, Fariha joined Master Feroze Gill and Ustad Ghulam Hussain Shaggan belonging to Gwaliar Gharana.
Fariha's songs were also featured in movies such as Chief Sahab, Salaib, Ghoonghat, Sangam, and Mosa Khan. Fariha's debut album "Naughty & Nice" was released in 1996, which became an instant hit. Her hit single "Patang Baaz Sajna" was one of the tracks featured in "Naughty & Nice". Fariha has released seven albums and recently released her seventh album in 2011.
Fariha is a big fan of Sajjad Ali, Mehnaz and Nayyara Noor. As being the only daughter of her parents among her two brothers, Fariha likes to spend her free time with family.
