Plot
[edit]This book continues the adventures of Henry, an ordinary twelve-year old boy, who suddenly discovers that he is from another world. Continuing the story from 100 Cupboards, while Henry and his cousin Henrietta are digging behind the barn for the key to Grandfather's room, Henry is mesmerized by a dandelion. A thunderstorm erupts and a bolt of lighting hits the dandelion just as Henry touches it. He goes blind. Henrietta is wild to explore the cupboards further, but Henry, still blind, repels her. Instead, he asks Richard, the boy he met in the previous book, to help him, as he cannot see. Henry and Richard fall asleep, not knowing that Henrietta was listening to their plans. She gets ready to follow them, but while Henry is asleep, he is pulled through the cupboards along with Richard. Henry wakes up to find himself strapped to a table. Two men are talking, one tells the other to prepare the potions. The first man leaves, the second swipes something on Henry's stomach. Henry asks what it is, but is horrified when the man tells him that the first man is Darius, first of the Last-Born Magi, who wrote him letters in 100 Cupboards. The man tells Henry that he is about to undergo a 'warpspasm'
