Mr. Stambuk, I don't know who you are either. Far be it for me to represent as a lay person what is historical fabrication and what is not. I do not pretend to be a historian, just a proud (and highly educated) descendant of the family you are attempting to write about. The name of that family is BONA, not, nor ever has been, Bunic. Have you ever visited Dubrovnik or researched the archives personally? Where does your information come from? How do you support your representations? Bunic is a historical anecdote, but has NEVER been the family name. The documents in the archives support this. My family has always been, and will always be, known as BONA, notwithstanding the Slav influences that sought to change that over time for political purposes. Please check your facts. I have said repeatedly, my only concern, and that of my distant relatives who have recorded their comments on these pages, is only to ensure that the FACTS in regard to the BONA family are preserved truthfully. You will appreciate that this matters to us because of the responsibility we feel toward our ancestors, as well as to future generations of Bona's. If you are a serious writer, and not merely a dllletante, you will go the extra mile to ensure that what you record as historical fact is in fact accurate. That is all we are asking and, as proud descendants of a great noble family, believe we have the right to protect.Mercy Bona (talk) 21:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
