Melasaoirse (/m/ɪə/lɘ sjɪeʀ/ʃ/a/ ; October 1, 1999) is the pseudonym of an Inuk Wikipedia editor. Her personal pronouns are she/her but she is also fine with they/them pronouns. Her interest in being an editor on Wikipedia began after reading on the issue of the gender disparity of Wikipedia editors. Although that is her focus on Wikipedia, her secondary inspiration was the preservation and recording of knowledge of Newfoundland, her home province in Canada.The inspiration of her username came from other pseudonyms on other online platforms(The Mela prefix being a short form derived from melatonin), and the second portion of her username is her chosen name as a two-spirit individual that is an Irish-Gaelic name.
